Vijay Adappa, M.D. the founder of ENT Physicians Inc., received his medical degree from Kastuarba Medical College in Manipal, India and completed a rotating internship and two years of post graduate training in Otolaryngology prior to coming to the United States. He completed two years of surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT which is affiliated with Yale University.Dr.Adappa then went to the Henry Ford Hospital System where he successfully finished a three year residency program in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery. He had the opportunity of studying and working under Dr.Fujita, who pioneered the surgical procedures for obstructive sleep apnea, during his residency. Additionally, he has worked in conjunction with St. Charles Mercy Hospital to introduce multiple other surgical procedures / techniques, including cochlear implants and image-guided sinus surgery, to this region. ENT Physicians was the first area ,ENT practice to offer, and advance, comprehensive inhalant allergy services. Dr.Adappa throughout his years of practice, has been actively involved with many of the region’s hospitals and has had multiple leadership roles within their medical staff organizations. He is currently Chairman of Surgery at St. Charles Mercy Hospital and Section Chief of ENT services at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and has made a commitment to actively support excellence in clinical surgical practice. Dr.Adappa is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
Gary Coleman

Gary Coleman

Gary Coleman, M.D. graduated from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Otolaryngology Residency at Wayne State University School of Medicine (Detroit). In addition to several honors, Dr.Coleman has received awards from the Association for Research in Otolaryngology and the American Neurotology Society. Dr. Coleman donates his time to a medical mission providing care to those in need in the Dominican Republic annually. His hobbies include running, bicycling and participating in marathons and triathlons. Dr.Coleman is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
Afser Shariff

Afser Shariff
M.D.

Afser Shariff, M.D. received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Internship and did two years of Neurosurgery before completing the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit). His areas of interest are pediatrics, allergy & immunology and chronic ear disease. Dr.Shariff was raised in Fenton, Missouri. In medical school he served as the Executive Vice-President of the advisory council and was inducted into the honor society. His hobbies include reading, bicycling and sailing. He donates his time to work with national organizations for the promotion of good governmental public policies. Dr.Shariff is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
Vincent Toma

Vincent Toma, M.D. received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine (Detroit) where he graduated near the top of his class. He then completed his surgical internship at the Detroit Receiving Hospital. Following that he completed his residency in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center, with oncology training at the Karmanos Cancer Center (Detroit).Furthermore, he has completed fellowship training courses in Otolaryngic Allergy. In addition to several honors and awards, he has performed NIH sponsored research in Otolaryngology related to hearing loss. He also has performed research related to Head & Neck trauma which has been published in some of the top medical journals and presented at several different national meetings for the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Currently he enjoys practicing general otolaryngology with a particular interest in sinus & allergy diseases, obstructive sleep apnea, and facial cosmetics. His hobbies include basketball, tennis, bicycling, and spending time with his family. Dr. Toma is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
Liesa Davis

Liesa Davis, C.N.P. graduated from the University of Toledo in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. After graduation, she obtained a position in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she currently holds a contingent position. In 2011, she decided to continue her education pursuing her master of science in nursing degree, at the University of Toledo. While completing her clinical rotations, Liesa developed a special interest in Otolaryngology, specifically allergy control and maintenance. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Toledo with a Family Nurse Practitioner degree and joined E.N.T. Physicians Inc. Liesa is an active member in the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Personal interests include reading, baking, traveling, medical mission trips and spending time with her family.

Nicole Kane

Nicole Kane, C.N.P. graduated from St. Vincent Medical Center School of Nursing, Toledo, Ohio, with a Diploma in Nursing. She received Academic Honors in both an Associate in Arts and Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Lourdes College, Sylvania, Ohio. In addition, she received a Master of Science in Nursing Degree with the major as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio, and graduated with Cum Laude Honors.She was selected by her peers and faculty to be the graduate class speaker at the convocation ceremony. Additionally, she was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She worked for several years as a RN in a Trauma, Burn and Medical ICU. Her clinical experience has included complimentary medicine, preoperative care and family practice. Clinical areas of interest include asthma, allergy and sinus disease management. Nicole is an active member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses. She has been trained in Otolaryngology through ENT Physicians, Inc. She enjoys precepting Nurse Practitioner students and Medical residents. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, sporting activities and spending time with her three children and husband.
Kim Smith

Kim Smith, C.N.P. became a Registered Nurse after completing the nursing program at Mercy Hospital’s School of Nursing in 1987. She then obtained her BSN from the University of Detroit Mercy, McAuley School of Nursing in 1994 and her Master of Science in Nursing and Certificate of Family Nurse Practitioner in 2002 from the Medical College of Ohio. She has successfully completed all Ohio Board of Nursing & Board of Pharmacy licensing requirements for prescriptive authority. Kim practiced as an RN for several years at Mercy Hospital and St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center where her practice focus was with critically ill and injured patients. She became NT Physician’s first Certified Nurse Practitioner in 2003 and provides a wide range of medical otolaryngology services to the practice population. Her special clinical interests are Asthma, Allergy and the care / education of Laryngectomy patients. Kim’s professional memberships include the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Spending time with family members and friends, along with reading and raising Great Danes, are of personal interest to Kim. Additionally, Kim volunteers as a health care member for Lucas County Medical Reserve Corps.

Mary Lou Nadaud

Mary Lou Nadaud, L.P.N. brings a wealth of experience to ENT Physicians Inc. With over thirty-eight years of clinical nursing experience, her rich and varied professional career includes critical care nursing, as well as private practice experience in family medicine, dermatology and allergy. She is actively involved in community health initiatives. For the past eight years, Mary Lou has served as the Clinical Manager for the allergy department of ENT Physicians. In her role as Clinical Manager, she has developed and implemented many new patient education initiatives designed to increase patient compliance and promote high quality patient care. She is an active member of American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and regularly attends AAOA conferences and seminars on the subject of otolaryngic allergy and immunology, with particular interest in the area of patient education, and allergy testing. Mary Lou spends her free time traveling, cooking and spending time off with her husband, family and their two Newfoundland pups.
